Young '60

ICK Amsterdam / De Krakeling

Coronavirus: performance cancelled

How long does 60 seconds last? And 60 minutes? Are they always as long? Or do they sometimes feel shorter. Or longer?

After the success of the project Van Toeschouwer naar Speler in recent years, this season is already the fifth edition in collaboration with De Krakeling. In Young '60, 40 children from primary school the Catamaran Landlust will explore the meaning of 'time'.

With an avalanche of movement, sound, light and words, all dancers skilfully pull the concept of time apart. In a timeframe of sixty minutes the audience shares moments of stillness, pressure, hope and desire in which not only the structure but also the mystery of time is revealed. Led by the young choreographers Marley Braaf and Rebecca Wijnruit, the children dance for 60 minutes through their sense of time. They are on an equal footing with the dancers of ICK Amsterdam in their choreography on stage.

The students and choreographers were inspired by Amos Ben Tal's performance 60 and ICK Amsterdam. Young '60 is a unique collaboration between choreographer Amos Ben-Tal, his dancers collective OFFprojects, ICK, Theater De Krakeling and children from group 4 and group 8 of primary school Catamaran Landlust.
