Starting this year, ICK has become the company-in-residence of Theater De Meervaart. This calls for a celebration! And what better way to celebrate than to throw a party? The annually recurring ICKFEST at De Meervaart offers a weekend filled with performances, workshops and showcases. From Amsterdam to Marseille, the ICKFEST presents exchanges within Nieuw-West as well as collaborations and exchanges with the French company Ballet National de Marseille.
On Saturday you will seethe dancers of both ICK and Ballet National de Marseille in the boxing ring at ROCCO. Followed by the Dutch premiere ofTWO – BOLÉRO where Emio Greco battles with the overpowering music of Ravel and 8 dancers from BNM. On Sunday, ICK presents new choreographic talent from Marseille and Amsterdam. Starting with the performance of SLAVEby French choreographer David Llari and followed by the premiere ofGLITTERGODS/STIGMA by choreographer Jesús de Vega.
There’s plenty to do and to see in-between the performances: visit the photo-exhibition by Alwin Poiana, discover the interactive installation Nightwalking II, retreat and relax in Cinedans’ filmbooth and move during the afterparty. See, experience, smell, feel, think, meet and dance!
