The ICKFEST in Nieuw-West! A 3-day dance festival at Theater de Meervaart with performances, a workshop, installations, films and an afterparty.
A weekend with four premieres: NEXT by the Israeli choreographer Emanuel Gat who, together with the dancers of ICK, reveals the mechanism behind a choreography. The Swans and Others, an ode to ballet master Marius Petipa (known from Swan Lake and Don Quixote) by Emio Greco | Pieter C. Scholten and the Ballet National de Marseille. School of Moon with robots and children from Nieuw-West by Eric Minh Cuong Castaing and BLUE by ICK supported artist Alexandra Lemm who creates a fluid, changeable world in this production.
We kick off the afterparty on Saturday with CHOREOPOP by choreographer Jesus de Vega and musician Chai Blaq, that shows the resilience of man with a cross-over between dance, a pop concert and live video clips.
On Saturday, former dancer and researcher Suzan Tunca will give the Double Skin / Double Mind workshop, a dance method developed by Emio Greco | Pieter C. Scholten. For the dancers of ICK this is the most important training to prepare themselves for the work of the choreographers. Dance experience or custom clothing is not required. Please register via: email@example.com
Between performances you can take a seat in the mini bios of Cinedans, listen to the podcast 'over a glass', visit the installations of Kris Verdonck and Mai-Marie Dijksma.
In addition to tickets for the individual performances, there is also a passe-partout for the whole weekend available for only €40.00
