After his dance education in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Sevilla, Jesús de Vega Gómez danced with Metros Dance Company, Galilli Dance, Danshuis Station-Zuid and worked with choreographers such as Ramon oller and Itzik Galilli, Václav Kuneš and Stephen Shropshire. For Emio Greco and Pieter C. Scholten he danced in Double Points: Rocco, acted as rehearsal director for their performance [purgatorio] POPOPERA and danced in La Commedia. Now Jesús de Vega is a supported artist of ICK and works as a dance teacher and researcher. In the fall of 2015 he participated in the creation of Macbeth an collaboration between ICK and de Toneelmakerij. With the support of ICK, he created GlitterGods/STIGMA (2017) and Choreopop (2018)
His work is inspired by socio-political issues which he dissects and blends with his artistic sensitivity, a touch of entertainment value and pop culture references. The resulting cocktail is cathartic, mysterious and poetic, presenting an emotional landscape of the times we live in.
