Choreographic coding lab

Choreographic Coding Lab (CCL) is an internationally traveling format by Motion Bank gathering artists who seek to translate aspects of choreography and dance into digital form.

Invited by FIBER Festival and De Brakke Grond, this one week laboratory will allow for peer-to-peer interdisciplinary knowledge exchange on practices and project ideas. Results from the week might range from prototypes for artworks to new plug-ins for working with dance related datasets. The lab seeks to encourage ongoing exchange in an artistic research community of individuals.

ICK is collaborating with the first edition ever taking place in Amsterdam and will invite selected choreographers who share their practice and pose questions from the perspective of the contemporary dance field. The week will be accompanied by Scott deLahunta, Motion Bank co-director, who will share experiences from the Motion Bank research. The CCL will result in an open lab session on its last day. Experts and the interested public will be invited to look behind the scenes, test prototypes and ask questions.
