Monique Duurvoort
Monique Duurvoort has begun work on a new own project: COPE. This project is realised and launched under the auspices of ICKamsterdam, in collaboration with Theater de Meervaart. As an artist en passant, Monique Duurvoort is taking part in the ICK’s Altra Cosa scheme, which sets out to stimulate the artistic dialogue with and among other makers and thereby aims to contribute to the development and the vitality of dance.

After several years of making productions for companies, academies and production facilities, Monique felt that the time was ripe to work on her own artistic signature. The ICK offers her a space to work in complete freedom on the development of her own movement language and also keeps opportunities for artistic feedback close at hand.

Monique is given the opportunity to continue and to intensify her study of the art form of urban dance and to enter into an artistic dialogue with the makers at the ICK.

Following the research phase there will be a presentation in Theater de Meervaart during the Sloterplasfestival in June 2010. End of 2010 the complete performance will première in Theater de Meervaart, after which the piece will tour the Dutch theatres.
