Altra Cosa stands for artistic dialogue, for the temporary injection of "the other element". Altra Cosa translates the need for a continuing dialogue with other parties to a practical exchange scheme and with that it forms the heart of ICKamsterdam. Based on this awareness, it will be setting up collaborations of various kinds with and among artists and institutions, art forms, science and cultures. A collaboration or dialogue can take different forms and does not by definition need to result in a concrete, tangible product. The starting point is the ‘open source’ that can be enriching, but that also needs to be enriched, itself. With the dance productions, theatre productions, films, >installations, exhibitions and other events ensuing from it, ICKamsterdam hopes to contribute to the development and vitality of the choreographic arts and the promotion of a dynamic artistic climate.
