The multimedia centre is based on the artistic practice of the makers and researchers working within the International Choreographic Arts Centre (ICK). It discloses a rich and living archive of physical and online publications on contemporary dance, with an emphasis on transfer and (dance) notation. Here to be viewed, read and experienced are works by an extensive international network of makers, researchers, teachers and scientists.Here, you can also browse through dance films from the Cinedans collection and from the repertoire of Emio Greco | PC. The multimedia collection now spans a bridge between the theory and practical findings from the past and current developments.
The collection of books, magazines, CDs and DVDs is thematically organised in sections like dance and notation, dance and transfer, dance and dramaturgy, dance and film, dance and new media, dance and music, dance and sources of inspiration.In addition, the multimedia library offers:a reading table with the latest dance magazines, viewing spaces; PC and Mac workstations; a scanner and a copier; audio equipment, and wireless internet access.
The multimedia centre is a new international and interdisciplinary meeting place for makers, dancers, teachers, researchers and anyone interested in dance and is located in the basement of the Candida building on Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal 120 in Amsterdam.
Opening hours: Tue and Fri 14:00-18:00; Thu 14:00-19:00, or upon appointment.
