The infinite journey of a music-dance project

From Cross to Nobody – the infinite journey of a music-dance project is the title of this booklet. No religious or existential intentions: the title is simply an indication of the journey that composer Hanspeter Kyburz and Emio Greco and Pieter C. Scholten, dance makers, have jointly undertaken since 2004. A journey that started with Double Points: +, a sketch, an étude. The '+' (read: Cross) stood for the crossing of two disciplines, for the intersection of dance and music.

The journey took them along various paths, with constantly added influences from yet other disciplines (and so: new crossings) to Double Points:
ΟΥΤΙΣ (read: Nobody). An interdisciplinary piece incorporating kinetic film images, live electronics, a music ensemble, a dancer, a singer and a libretto. What began as an experiment has meanwhile developed into a small dance opera. However, the almost Homeric journey is not at an end yet: once they finish this phase, they will once again investigate it and take it as a breeding ground for our next step.
